Just Getting into the Swing of Things....
....and the term will be over 15 Days!!
January and February were gone in a blink of an eye as Zart was a hive of activity!
The Back to Basics workshops were held three times this summer and new and returning art teachers worked with Ann Bidstrup and Dee Zabel to power through the basic skills and techniques needed in the artroom. Teachers left exhausted but more confident in tackling the artroom and curriculum! There are still several other Back to Basics workshops scheduled in Term 1 and 2 focusing on Construction, Clay and Textiles. There is still room in many of our PD opportunities left for Term 1. Please see our website for more information.
February is our busiest time of year filling orders and serving customers in the retail centre. It was great to see the continued support of our returning customers and exciting to have so many new customers interested in our PBL range as well!
The Free Product and Ideas Presentations are wrapping up next week. If you missed out on these make sure to check the Zart Extra at the start of 2014 for more information. See the winners of our free half day workshops in the next Zart Extra, these names were drawn from the 200 attendees who we met at these sessions this year.
Pamela Conder ran a very special workshop at the end of February in hopes of raising awareness of orangutan conservation. Participants raved about this unique opportunity to share in Pamela's passion for these creatures and her artistic expertise. They left with a collection of ideas of how to incorporate activites into the curriculum in their schools' and encourage awareness of conservation and protection of orangutans. To read more follow this link to Pamela's article in the Term 1 2013 Extra.
In association with Earth 4 Orangutans and Pamela Conder, Zart would like to invite primary and secondary school students to create works of art in all media, giving their interpretations of orangutans and how they live. Selected work will be exhibited online and the project will culminate with an exhibition "Different Like Us" to be held in June 2013 at Zart's Gallery in Box Hill, Victoria, Australia. On the 20th of June student artists, parents, and friends will be invited to the opening of the exhibition where students will be invited to offer their work for sale to support Earth 4 Orangutans, a project to create protected accommodation within a wild setting for Sumatran orangutans which will be the nucleus of a Conservation Education Centre in northern Sumatra. All work is to be submitted via email to jan@zartart.com.au before 1st June 2013. We hope you will join us in supporting this worthwhile cause. For more information please email jan@zartart.com.au

Below are the dates for the 2013 FREE Ideas and Product Presentations!
Make sure to save the dates! Our consultants visit schools and educational facilities assisting in product knowledge, curriculum advice, activities and updating on new materials and products. They are happy to provide advice and expertise on techniques and applications and are there as a resource for our customers. When they visit, they will bring with them literature on products, techniques and art information, as well as new materials, samples showing the use of materials and provide ideas on how to use the products
. These metropolitan and country presentations provide the ideal venue for consolidating or starting up a regional network of art teachers.
It is an excellent opportunity to explore new ideas and view and discuss the products with colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere. Generally, presentations take 1–1.5 hours and for catering purposes please book in by email zes@zartart.com.au or phoning Zart Art on (03) 9890 1867 Bairnsdale Monday, 11 February 2013 Dee Zabel Lucknow Primary School Balmoral Crescent, Eastwood VIC 3875 Werribee Monday, 11 February 2013 Stacey Ferrier Werribee Primary School Deutgam Street, Werribee VIC 3030 Ballarat Monday, 11 February 2013 Tania Di Berardino Ballarat Ballarat Specialist School Gillies Street North, Ballarat, VIC 3350 Sale Tuesday, 12 February 2013 Dee Zabel Sale Primary School Macalister Street, Sale VIC 3850 Melton Tuesday, 12 February 2013 Stacey Ferrier St Catherine of Siena School - West Melton Bulmans Road, West Melton VIC 3337 Geelong Tuesday, 12 February 2013 Tania Di Berardino Hamlyn Banks Primary School 2-24 Chaucer Street, Hamlyn Heights VIC 3215 Traralgon Wednesday, 13 February 2013 Dee Zabel Traralgon Primary School Liddiard Road, Traralgon VIC 3844 Thornbury Wednesday, 13 February 2013 Tania Di Berardino Penders Grove Primary School 370 Victoria Street, Thornbury VIC 3071 Warragul Thursday, 14 February 2013 Dee Zabel Warragul North Primary School O'Dowds Road, Warragul VIC 3820 Mooroolbark Monday, 18 February 2013 Dee Zabel Rolling Hills Primary School 52 Landscape Drive, Mooroolbark, VIC 3138 Roxburgh Park Monday, 18 February 2013 Stacey Ferrier Roxburgh Park Primary School Alamands Avenue, Roxburgh Park VIC 3064 Bendigo Monday, 18 February 2013 Tania Di Berardino Quarry Hill Primary School Peel Street, Bendigo VIC 3350 Upwey Tuesday, 19 February 2013 Dee Zabel Upwey South Primary School Morris Road, Upwey VIC 3158 Greensborough Tuesday, 19 February 2013 Stacey Ferrier Apollo Parkways Primary School Civic Drive, Greensborough VIC 3064 Rochester Tuesday, 19 February 2013 Tania Di Berardino St Josephs Primary School Campaspie Street, Rochester, Vic 3561 Cranbourne Wednesday, 20 February 2013 Dee Zabel Rangebank Primary School Lesdon Avenue, Cranbourne VIC 3977 Shepparton Wednesday, 20 February 2013 Tania Di Berardino St Georges Road Primary School 120 St Georges Road, Shepparton VIC 3630 South Yarra Thursday, 21 February 2013 Dee Zabel South Yarra Primary School 601 Punt Road, South Yarra VIC 3141 Yarraville Thursday, 21 February 2013 Stacey Ferrier Yarraville West Primary School Powell Street, Yarraville VIC 3013 Mt Eliza Monday, 25 February 2013 Dee Zabel St Macartans Primary School 97 Bungower Street, Mornington VIC 3931 Taylors Lakes Tuesday, 26 February 2013 Stacey Ferrier Taylors Lakes Primary School Chichester Drive, Taylors Lakes, VIC 3038 Dandenong Wednesday, 27 February 2013 Dee Zabel Dandenong North Primary School 117-125 Cleeland Street, Dandenong VIC 3175 Moonee Ponds Wednesday, 27 February 2013 Stacey Ferrier Moonee Ponds West Primary School Athol Street, Moonee Ponds VIC 3039 Pakenham Tuesday, 5 March 2013 Dee Zabel Lakeside Lutheran College 2 Portobello Road, Pakenham VIC 3810 Mentone Wednesday, 6 March 2013 Dee Zabel Mentone Primary School Childers Street, Mentone VIC 3194 Zart Thursday, 14 March 2013 Tania Di Berardino Zart Art 4/41 Lexton Road, Box Hill Vic 3129 |
