Book Week Information Evening

Join CBCA and Zart Art in August for a discussion on illustrating non fiction books. Four illustrators will share with you the techniques they use. Zart Student Gallery

The Term Two Student Gallery will be dismantled on June 21st so don't miss out on seeing this collection of inspirational student artworks. The Term Three collection will be ready for viewing on June 23rd and on exhibition until September 13th. Come along with your camera to capture the creative outcomes from students in Primary and Secondary art classes. I would love to hear your comments if you have been in to see the current exhibition.

One World, Many Stories

Create an exciting environment for Book Week using displays and activities that challenge and stimulate students so they enjoy reading and use their imagination tactically and figuratively.

Zart Education Book Week Workshops cater for Art, Classroom and Library teachers and co-ordinators. We guide you through the practical interpretations of the activities and encourage you to use your imagination as you begin your story in the world. Zart Customer Service Centre

Come in to visit the staff at the Zart Art Customer Service Centre and see how a range of papers have been collaged together to create an amazing Asian rainforest display. While there go upstairs to the student gallery to see an incredible collection of student artwork. This exhibition is only on display until June 21st so don't miss out. 

The Children's Book Council and Zart Art Joint Seminar Series 2011

In May we hosted the launch of Allen & Unwin’s I am Thomas, the latest collaboration between author Libby Gleeson, illustrator Armin Greder and their publisher Erica Wagner. I am Thomas is a powerful and confronting picture book that celebrates the inner strength required to stand out against the crowd. The session explored the dynamic and collaborative working relationship that underlies the creation of Libby and Armin’s award winning titles. The evening concluded with book sales, signing and supper for a number of teachers and CBCA guests.

CBCA Review of Linking Art with Literature



On 4th November 4 Children's Book Illustrators, Sally Rippin, Kevin Burgemeestre, Patricia Mullins and Sue deGennaro joined 30 teachers at Zart Art in a conversation about their work. An incredible insight into the workings of a professional illustrator was invaluable to all present. Thanks to Bronwen Bennet and the Childrens Book Council of Australia  for their ongoing promotion of children's literature.
